Ahoy!
Are you considering a change of Yacht? The number one thing yachts look for on a CV is longevity. When considering the decision to move on, it’s important to consider your career, as lack of longevity can be damaging. If you have lots of short periods of time onboard it can suggest a red flag to a potential employer.

Consider what you’ve learnt up until this moment and the things you are certain you can develop with a different experience in another environment. Consider, have I learnt all the things I want to learn on this Yacht? If the answer is yes, then you’re ready to learn from someone or something new.

We, as yachties, decide to leave a yacht for any number of reasons and that is completely normal. Although despite any other personal or professional reason we should always consider, is it the best idea for my career.

This is a question only you the candidate can answer.

As the industry continues to change and grow, yachts are becoming progressively more selective in what they look for in a candidate. Therefore, having a selection of yachts that highlight your expertise’s is far more impressive than having ten yachts over five years, known of which real experience is built upon.

When making the decision to change yacht, it’s important to talk to others and consider your options of what is out there for you next. We at Ahoy crew support yacht crew in making choices based on their wellbeing and career progression. Have you just left your yacht and are looking for your next role.
